Description
The Smart Peak Flow is a compact, self-monitoring digital peak expiratory flow meter (PEFM) for those with a respiratory condition (asthma). Patients blow into the mouthpiece thrice so the accompanying app can take and record the patients peak flow measurement in the comfort of their home.
The Smart Peak Flow plugs into the audio jack port of any Android and iOS smartphone devices detecting detects asthma exacerbations before asthma patients can feel it. How does the Smart Peak Flow App work?
The Smart Peak flow app (free download) will ask the user to blow into the Smart Peak Flow device thrice and will save the highest of the three values as the result. After the test is complete, the user is able to manually save notes about their symptoms. Test results are then shown in a track view, where users can get an excellent overview of the progress of their condition. The Smart Peak Flow app provides data that reveals whether a patient is in green(safe), yellow or red (at risk) zone, allowing accurate results to be shared instantly with their physician. The user also receives reminders, educational information and improved motivation through symptom-free periods and enables them to share PEF data with your physicians for diagnosis via email almost instantly.
The app is available for (free) download on both iPhones and Android phones.
Please note:
The device needs sufficient ambient lighting to work, so don’t use in a dark room. Also, some fluorescent lights flicker, making measurement more difficult. Just be patient and follow the on-screen measurement instructions
